Headway is a UK charity that works to improve life after brain injury. With its national network of 125 regional centres and branches, Headway provides support, services and information to brain injury survivors, their families and carers, as well as to professionals in health and legal fields. Headway helps to rebuild the lives of those affected by brain injury and to provide access to services to promote rehabilitation.

The Brain Injury Group

The Brain Injury Group (BIG) provides support to individuals and families affected by brain injury. BIG provides practical help and assistance through access to rehabilitation and welfare advice. BIG also works closely with national charities and support groups to share best practice and to allow individuals to share experiences with others.

The Amputation Foundation

The Amputation Foundation assists amputees with support following significant injury. The Amputation Foundation focuses on providing advice, information and encouragement to amputees on how to adapt to a new life following limb amputation. The charity provides access to numerous services, including benefits information, legal information, prosthetic centre advice, education and retraining. With over 50 years’ of experience, the Amputation Foundation has forged partnerships with numerous disability and amputation charitable organisations to ensure that the advice it provides is unrivalled.

Action against Medical Accidents (AvMA) is a charity which promotes patient safety and justice. AvMA provides free, independent advice and support to people affected by medical accidents. It offers assistance through a designated helpline and support from specialist caseworkers.

CL Medilaw are specialist lawyers recommended by AvMA and members of the team are on the AvMA Specialist Clinical Negligence panel; a panel which has come to represent an essential quality mark for those clinical negligence practitioners who place clients at the centre of their practice.  We also have members of the team that provide assistance through the AvMA helpline.


Law Society’s Clinical Negligence Accreditation

The Law Society is the independent professional body for solicitors and provides a list of clinical negligence lawyers who are accredited specialists in clinical negligence. Members of the CL Medilaw team have obtained this accreditation which recognises their skill and experience in this area of law.

APIL is a not for profit organisation which seeks to protect the interests of injured people. It organises and manages campaigns to promote the rights of those who through no fault of their own, have suffered injuries. APIL provides helpful information relating to how claims can be pursued and how compensation can be obtained.

Newlife the Charity for Disabled Children

CL Medilaw are proud to be working in association with Newlife

Newlife the Charity for Disabled Children is the UK’s largest charity provider of essential equipment to disabled and terminally ill children.

Newlife provides helpline support and equipment grants, as well as emergency loans when a child’s safety is at risk or life expectancy is shortened. Specialist toys are also loaned through the Play Therapy Pod service which can change lives in many ways and allow children to learn through play.
